What Is My Earliest Retirement Date?

Not a lookup โ€” a calculation you can actually do yourself in four steps, using facts you already have from earlier in this roadmap.

1

Confirm your plan

Your eligibility rules depend entirely on this. If you haven't already, run Step 1's tool.

2

Find your eligible paths

Check the table on When Can I Retire? for the specific age-and-service combinations available to your plan.

3

Check your current years of service

Log into miAccount for your exact, official total โ€” not a guess based on your hire date.

4

Take whichever path you hit first

If your plan offers more than one path (MIP members often do), your earliest date is whichever combination of age and years you reach soonest โ€” not necessarily the one that sounds most familiar.

โš ๏ธ
"Earliest" isn't the same question as "best"

This calculation tells you the soonest date you're allowed to retire โ€” it says nothing about whether that's actually the smart move. Retiring at your earliest eligible date can mean a permanently smaller monthly benefit than waiting would provide.

The bottom line

This is one of the few numbers on this whole roadmap that's fully knowable today, not just estimable โ€” plan, eligibility rule, and current service years are all facts, not projections. There's no reason to guess at this one when the real number is one miAccount login away.
