How Do I Find My Plan in miAccount?

If Step 1's tool gave you a range instead of a single answer, or you just want to confirm it officially, miAccount is where your actual, on-record plan lives β€” here's exactly how to get to it.

1

Go to miAccount and sign in

Visit michigan.gov/orsmiaccount and click to log in. You'll be redirected to MILogin β€” Michigan's statewide sign-in system that miAccount runs on top of.

2

Create a MILogin account, if you don't have one yet

First-time visitors need to sign up for MILogin before miAccount will let them in β€” this takes a few extra minutes the very first time and is a one-time step.

3

Complete multi-factor authentication

MILogin requires MFA on every login β€” you'll receive a one-time passcode by text message or phone call and enter it to continue. This isn't optional, so have your phone nearby.

4

Verify your identity, if this is your first time linking the account

The first time you connect MILogin to your retirement account, you may be asked for your 8-digit Member ID (found on prior ORS correspondence) or other identifying details, depending on your status.

5

Look under Account Summary or Member Statement

Once you're in, your plan type shows up in your Account Summary. For the fuller picture β€” wage history, service credit earned and purchased, contribution totals β€” check the Member Statement section.

✎
A quick honesty note

ORS updates the portal's exact layout from time to time, so a menu label here or there may look slightly different from what's described above. If you can't find it right away, Account Summary and Member Statement are the two places to start looking β€” they're consistently where this information lives.

πŸ”‘
Lost your Member ID?

ORS can mail it to you directly β€” look for that option on the miAccount login page, or call ORS Customer Service at 800-381-5111 (8:30 a.m.–5 p.m., Monday–Friday).

The bottom line

The login process has more steps than you'd expect for a website β€” that's Michigan's statewide security standard, not something ORS added just for retirement accounts. Once you're through it, your actual plan type is sitting right there in Account Summary, official and unambiguous.
